OURCULTURE Kick-off in Paris

On 13–14 November 2025, our European consortium came together in Paris to launch OURCULTURE — a project co-funded by the European Union (2025-1-KA210-YOU-D869871A) empowering youth with digital skills, media literacy and creative storytelling to celebrate and preserve cultural heritage.

During this first transnational meeting, partners from France, Türkiye and Hungary gathered to align on the project's shared vision, define the management and communication framework, and set the creative direction for the months ahead.

Testing the Action Guide with young people

The pilot phase brings the project’s methodology into practice. In May 2026, each partner delivered the programme with young people in its own country, in order to test how the activities work in a real learning environment and to gather structured feedback from participants and facilitators. The programme follows a common sequence — exploring culture, collecting material, developing stories, producing digital content and reflecting together — delivered as an intensive two-day workshop that each partner adapts to its group.

Hungary. Fiatalok Egységben Egyesület delivered eight interactive workshops in Budapest with 24 young people and four youth workers, representing ten countries: Hungary, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Laos, Ghana, Peru, the Netherlands, Uzbekistan and Morocco. The group mapped the visible and invisible dimensions of culture — language, food, celebrations, music, values and beliefs — before turning to misinformation and digital influence, working through a set of digital dilemmas, and closing with heritage explored through sound and traditional instruments.

Türkiye. Akdeniz Panorama Derneği opened the session with a presentation, “Our Culture and Digital Skills for Young People”, connecting cultural heritage to digital storytelling. Participants then worked in small groups on writing and interview exercises, shared stories from their own families and communities, and reviewed the results together at the end of the day.

France. eutopique delivered its pilot as an intergenerational workshop. Teenagers and older adults worked in mixed groups, comparing how each generation encounters culture, evaluates information and shares content online. The contrast in perspective proved to be one of the most productive elements of the session.

We thank every young person and youth worker who took part. The outputs, observations and evaluation forms collected in the three countries are now being used to prepare the final version of the Action Guide.
